#10 How to Install the App?

Phone, PC, Mac — all supported. PenPage is a PWA (Progressive Web App), so you install it straight from the browser.

Easiest: the Install button inside PenPage

⚡ One click, no browser menus. Works in Chrome and Edge — on desktop and on Android.

  1. Open Settings in PenPage (the sliders icon in the side bar)
  2. Click "Install App" at the top right
  3. Click "Install" in the browser dialog — done

Safari and Firefox have no one-click install, so the same button shows the steps for your device instead. Those steps are also listed below.

Mac

Chrome

💻 Look for the install button in the address bar

  1. Open penpage.com in Chrome (Chrome 76+)
  2. Click the install icon (Install) on the right side of the address bar
  3. Click "Install" in the popup
  4. Open PenPage anytime from your Dock or Chrome apps

Older Chrome, no install button? Click the menu (Menu) at the top right → "Cast, Save, and Share" → "Install PenPage…" → "Install"

Safari

🍎 Look for the Share button in the toolbar

  1. Open penpage.com in Safari
  2. Click the Share button (Share) in the top toolbar
  3. Select "Add to Dock"
  4. Click "Add" to confirm
  5. App appears in your Dock — click anytime to open

Windows

Chrome

💻 Look for the install button in the address bar

  1. Open penpage.com in Chrome (Chrome 76+)
  2. Click the install icon (Install) on the right side of the address bar
  3. Click "Install" in the popup
  4. Done — app is installed and appears in your apps menu

Older Chrome, no install button? Click the menu (Menu) at the top right → "Cast, Save, and Share" → "Install page as app" → "Install"

Edge

💻 Look for the Menu button (···) at the top right

  1. Open penpage.com in Edge
  2. Click the menu (···) at the top right
  3. Select "Apps" > "Install this site as an app"
  4. Click "Install" to confirm

iPhone / iPad

Chrome

📱 Look for the Share button at the top right

  1. Open penpage.com in Chrome
  2. Tap the Share button (Share at top right)
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen" Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap "Add" to confirm

Safari

📱 Look for the Share button at the bottom center

  1. Open penpage.com in Safari
  2. Tap the Share button (Share at bottom center)
  3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen" Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap "Add" to confirm
  5. Done — app icon appears on your home screen

Android

Chrome

🤖 Chrome often offers to install PenPage by itself — just tap "Install" when the prompt appears.

If no prompt shows up:

  1. Open penpage.com in Chrome
  2. Tap the menu icon (Menu) at the top right
  3. Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap "Add" or "Install" to confirm

Already installed? Open the app

💻 Desktop Chrome:

  1. Chrome 134+: Click the "Open in PenPage" button in the address bar Open in PenPage
  2. Or: Click the Menu menu → Cast, Save, and Share → Open in PenPage

Keep the icon around: once the app opens, right-click the PenPage icon (Open in PenPage) in the Dock → Options → "Keep in Dock" on Mac, or right-click it in the taskbar → "Pin to taskbar" on Windows. Without this the icon disappears when you quit the app.

📱 Phone: just tap the PenPage icon on your home screen.
