#24 Print to PDF

Press Cmd+P (Mac) or Ctrl+P (Windows) to print any note — or save it as a PDF using your browser's built-in print dialog.

How it works

  1. Open the note you want to print
  2. Press Cmd+P (Mac) or Ctrl+P (Windows)
  3. Your browser's print dialog opens
  4. Choose "Save as PDF" as the destination — or send to a real printer
  5. Click Print / Save

PenPage automatically hides all UI (sidebar, toolbar, navigation) and shows only your content on a clean white background.

Page breaks

A single horizontal rule (---) prints as a thin divider line — it does not start a new page. Put two --- in a row to force a page break:

Content on page 1...

---

Still page 1 — a single --- is just a divider...

---

---

Content on page 2...

In the editor, a page break shows as a double dashed line. Leave a blank line above the first ---, otherwise the text above turns into a heading.

What you get

Element Print behavior
Text Black on white, 12pt
Headings Preserved, won't break after
Images Fit to page width
Code blocks Light gray background, stays together
Tables Visible borders
Mermaid diagrams Rendered on white background
Links Shown with underline

Tips

  • Preview the output in the print dialog before saving
  • For long notes, add two --- in a row between sections for clean page breaks
  • Mermaid charts render cleanly — the diagram stays on one page when possible
  • Code blocks won't split across pages
