#15 Forgot Your Password — Can You Recover It?

No. There is no "forgot password" button. No recovery email. No secret question.

Why?

Because that's what makes the encryption real. If we could reset your password, it would mean we have a backdoor — and so would anyone who compromises our system.

No backdoor = true security. That's a feature, not a bug.

What you should do

• Share it with a trusted family member or someone you trust
• Use the same password as your Google account — one password to remember, manage everything
• Write it down somewhere safe (not in PenPage — that defeats the purpose)
• Make it memorable but strong — a passphrase works great

What happens if you truly forget?

The encrypted pages become permanently unreadable. The folder structure remains, but the content inside is gone forever.
