#2 What Is Markdown? Do I Need to Learn It?

No, you don't. Just click the toolbar buttons — bold, heading, list — exactly like Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

PenPage is a Real WYSIWYG Markdown editor. That means what you see is what you get, no split-screen previews, no raw syntax staring back at you.

But if you already know Markdown...

Type it directly — it converts instantly:

• Type # → Heading appears
• Type **text** → Bold rendered
• Type - → Bullet list starts
• Type 1. → Numbered list begins

It's actually faster than clicking buttons once you get the hang of it. But that's totally optional.

Bottom line

You don't need to learn anything new. If you can use Word, you can use PenPage. Markdown fans just get a bonus.
